Facelift is an elective cosmetic facial surgery procedure designed to
elevate aging portions of the lower face and neck.
Because certain
lines, wrinkles, and facial changes cannot be addressed by creams or topical
treatments, facelift techniques reposition the deeper tissues of the face and
allow for removal of redundant skin.
A facelift does not elevate the
eyebrows. This is a separate surgical procedure that is usually performed using
endoscopic techniques, nor does a facelift remove extra eyelid skin. This
procedure is known as a Blepharoplasty.
Facelift is usually performed
using a combination of intravenous sedation and local anesthesia in an
accredited surgical facility. This allows for the procedure to be performed
safely in a manner that is most comfortable for the patient. The procedure is
performed on an outpatient basis. This means that you will be able to go home
after surgery.
Most facelift candidates are in their mid - 40's to late
60's. However, we evaluate patients based on physiologic, and not chronologic
age. Most healthy individuals that have aging changes requiring a facelift are
good candidates. Realistic goals and a stable psychological profile are
essential elements for undergoing any type of cosmetic procedure. The decision
to undergo surgery should be carefully thought out, and should not be rushed.
The decision to have this procedure is a decision for you and not for anyone
else.

Rhinoplasty is an elective cosmetic surgical procedure designed to
enhance the form and sometimes the function of the nose. Our goal in
rhinoplasty surgery is to make changes that will refine an individual's
appearance while respecting the structure and function of the nose.
The
changes that can be made in rhinoplasty depend largely on the patient's
starting anatomy. Some noses require shaping by removal of a prominent hump,
others by straightening a crooked appearance, others still by refining a
drooping or enlarged nasal tip. Certain changes are feasible in some
individuals, and not in others. A complete consultation is required prior to
consideration of surgery.
The only age requirement for rhinoplasty is
that the midface has matured adequately. Most patients seeking rhinoplasty in
my practice range from their mid teens to early 50's. However, we evaluate
patients based on physiologic and not chronologic age. Most healthy post
pubescent individuals that have nasal characteristics which can be addressed by
rhinoplasty are good candidates for surgery.

Endoscopic Forehead Lift is an elective cosmetic surgical procedure
designed to elevate the outer (lateral) eyebrow and soften vertical lines in
the central brow region.
An endoscopic forehead lift repositions the
brow in a deep surgical plane, utilizing endoscopes and fiberoptic cameras
through small concealed incisions behind the hairline.
An Endoscopic
Forehead Lift does not elevate the lower face. This is a separate surgical
procedure called Facelift, nor does an Endoscopic Forehead Lift remove extra
eyelid skin. This procedure is known as a Blepharoplasty. However, an
Endoscopic Forehead Lift can eliminate or minimize the amount of skin that
needs to be removed by lifting the brow.
Most Endoscopic Forehead Lift
candidates are in their mid - 30's to late 60's. However, we evaluate patients
based on physiologic and not chronologic age. Most healthy individuals that
have aging changes requiring an Endoscopic Forehead Lift are good
candidates.

Blepharoplasty is an elective cosmetic surgery procedure designed to
enhance the appearance of the eyes. This is accomplished by diminishing a
puffy, tired, or stern appearance.
Blepharoplasty removes excessive
upper and or lower eyelid skin, through small concealed incisions in the eyelid
creases. Excessive fat can also be removed from the eyelids in order to give a
more refreshed, youthful appearance.
A Blepharoplasty does not elevate
the lower face. This is a separate surgical procedure called Facelift, nor does
Blepharoplasty elevate the forehead. This procedure is known as an Endoscopic
Forehead Lift.
Most Blepharoplasty candidates are in their mid - 30's to
late 60's. However, we evaluate patients based on physiologic and not
chronologic age. Most healthy individuals that have aging changes that require
Blepharoplasty are good candidates.

Temporary or permanent, lip augmentation is designed to make lips
fuller and more luscious looking.
Lip augmentation can be temporary
(collagen) or permanent (Advanta®, Atrium Medical). Advanta® is a
permanent but reversible form of lip augmentation made of a very soft form of
Gortex. It is structurally different from older forms of Gortex and
biointegrates very easily.
Advanta® is a dual porosity implant with
a hard core and a very soft outer layer. Lip augmentation is an office
procedure, usually done under local anesthesia.
Advanta® looks and
feels natural. Samples and pre/ postop pictures are available in the office for
your inspection.

Reconstructive Facial Plastic Surgery procedures are performed for
functional and cosmetic reasons, and sometimes a combination of
both.
Our goal is to return a patient after skin cancer surgery, trauma,
or other form of pathology to a more normal appearance.
The way in which
a patient heals depends on an individual's physiology, nature of the trauma or
size of the defect, and manner of repair.
Scars generally take a full
year to completely remodel and changes can be expected in wound appearance for
this period of time.
