I’m dealing with some medical issues. Will this prevent me from having surgery?

When should I stop using nicotine products pre- surgery and when can I use them post-surgery
You should stop at least 6 weeks prior to surgery and not start until at least 6 weeks after your procedure.
Why do I need to stop nicotine products?
It is generally accepted that nicotine delays wound healing. Smokers can have a high incidence of postoperative complications, such as flap necrosis, wound infection, and rupture of sutured wounds.
How do I prepare for my procedure?
While outside, you should use a liberal amount of high SPF sunscreen and stay out of the sun. Ensure you are eating a healthy diet, and we will inform you when to stop taking your supplements before surgery. We recommend that patients undergo a Hydrafacial™ before surgery for optimal results, though this treatment is not mandatory. Your patient care coordinator will share tips and best practices to achieve optimal results during your consultation.
What are examples of non-cosmetic surgery?
